Winter Camp '24
Jan 16-19, 2024 for ages 7+ 9am-2:30pm Tuesday through Friday $250-350 sliding scale We've often considered offering a camp in the midst of our extended winter off season. The shorter days, longer nights, cold, and call to introspect in the depth of winter feel clear, yet there is so clearly a need to get outside, move our bodies, breath the fresh cold air and be together playing with friends. In the past schedules haven't aligned to offer a winter camp, but this year when asked a few mentors got excited, and so we're offering up a 4 day long winter camp from Jan 16-19, 9am-2:30 each day. Open to ages 7+ (possibly younger if we know them) in this 'Village Style' Camp all the kids, alongside adult and possibly youth mentors we'll practice supporting & including each other wherever we're at with ability & age as well as have the potential to split up to make sure we're providing age appropriate challenges for all. We'll have our usual opening & closing circle flows and follow where the temps, vibes, and passions of the group lead us. We will very likely work on fire-making and spend time around the fire with introspection & story, muse and explore winter food & medicine possibilities, wintery crafts, deepening our knowing of the animals through tracking, practice winter plant ID in our fire-making & tracking, perhaps build a shelter or wind-break, and of course plenty of games & movement to stay warm. As you've come to know with Wild Harvest we have lots of ideas which we will co-create with the kids who show up into fun and learning filled days of winter camp. We look forward to seeing you there! to Register head to http://bookeo.com/wildharvest Wild Food and Fire–a full-day workshop with What Got Gathered and Wild Harvest Nature Connection May 6th, 2023, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Lake Farm County Park.
